Vivienne Westwood and Colby Keller. Two iconic personalities together. How did this collaboration happen?

I was approached by Vivienne Westwood’s team about participating in their new campaign.

In that campaign, you seem to be more fabulous and spectacular than many other models. You definitely have star quality. How did you feel in womens’ clothes posing?

The clothes are meant to be worn by anyone.  I definitely don’t have any hang ups about gender.

How was the idea of “Colby does America” born and what’s next?

I wanted to do something that highlighted the beauty of the parts of America that aren’t commonly recognized in the art and porn worlds.  It made sense to create an experience that explored both the art world and the porn world and to confront the aesthetic sensibilities of both.

Where did you find your partners for this project?

Mostly on Grindr or Scruff once I arrived in a new state.

Do you like to watch your own porn?

I never have.  I don’t think I would enjoy it.

What is your best type of gay porn?

I don’t really watch porn much anymore.  Maybe that will change after this project is over.

Do you enjoy being a porn performer and having sex with other men or you approach it as part of your work?

I enjoy sex and having sex with other men, but yes, doing porn is also a professional endeavour and I want to make sure I do it well.

Do you remember how you felt in your first porn movie?

I was very nervous.

Is the porn industry a hard industry to work in?

Yes, it doesn’t pay exceptionally well, but it does give me the freedom to explore and work on my art.

What is the most difficult part when performing in a porn movie?

The hardest part is keeping an erection over such a long period of time.  It’s not like a normal sexual encounter where you get aroused and then have sex and finish.  You have to maintain an erection off and on over a span of several hours.

Can anyone become a porn model, as long as they are hung and handsome?

Amateur porn allows anyone to create porn regardless of their look.  Before the internet, only a few studios controlled the aesthetic choices for consumers.

Do you sometimes feel fed up of sex?

No, it’s not like I’m having sex twenty-four seven.  Everyone’s libido goes through cycles.

I feel that one of your most flattering virtues is your personality. What do you think? Is personality more important than a hot appearance/body?

Not in porn.  I’ve been very lucky.

Do you have a fetish?

No.

What is your secret when it comes to seducing a man?

I can’t say that I’m that methodical about it.  I just try to be myself.

How is the ideal man?

Someone who is smart, doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is true to themselves.

Have you made your own lube? Did it work?

I did once, but it wasn’t my favorite. . . and I make spit all the time.  😉

Have you worked in any other jobs apart from the porn industry?

Lots of jobs.  And many at the same time.

Do you have friends from the porn industry?

I like most of the people I’ve worked with but there are none I would consider close friends.  I’m an introvert.

What makes everybody like you? Apart from being sexy, you give the impression of a funny, friendly, opinionated and approachable guy.

Not that many.  Mostly I get requests for interviews. 🙂

If you were not Colby for one day, would you try to have sex with Colby?

I don’t think so.

I’m really good at buying beer.

How do your fans react when they recognise you in public?

Usually they are very nice and ask to pose in a photo with me.  Sometimes they just want to take a photo of me by myself, which i don’t understand.  Let’s take a selfie!

What has been the weirdest reaction from a fan?

I haven’t had any weird encounters.

What are you allergic to?

Nothing that I know of.

How do you react when people criticise you about your nails?

I try not to get upset about it.

Where does your love for art come from?

I’ve loved art since I was a little kid.  When I was young, I was always drawing.

Do you consider porn a form of art?

I’m trying to change that.

Do you consider our society sexually-overexposed?

No, we’re pretty repressed.  We are over exposed to violence and extreme wealth.

What is your approach towards social media? Promotional activity or self-expression?

A little of both.

Are you dreaming of raising your own family?

It’s hard enough work raising myself and my friends are my family.

What makes you blush?

Just about everything.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Taking baths.

Are you in love at the moment?

Yes. With Marxism.
