“I never meant to write a cookbook. Honestly, I probably should’ve written a book about love or Mariah Carey or Fortnite. I will say, though, that my romance with pasta has been my longest and best relationship. Pasta is exciting and comforting. Pasta is always there, right in your pantry. Pasta never ghosts you or lies about its size. Except for paccheri. Sometimes they’re massive.” –Matteo Lane
YOUR PASTA SUCKS: A “Cookbook” is the debut cookbook of celebrated comedian, actor, YouTube sensation (and pasta enthusiast) Matteo Lane, publishing on 10th April, 2025. YOUR PASTA SUCKS: A “Cookbook” features 30 recipes and laugh-out-loud stories rooted in serious pasta knowledge and presented with Matteo’s signature snarky and sassy wit.

Matteo Lane is known for distilling his Italian-American experience into hilarious bits and sharing his outrageous misadventures with millions of fans. But one thing that Matteo takes very seriously is pasta.
YOUR PASTA SUCKS is a zesty, bawdy romp punctuated by pasta that will transport you from Chicago to New York City to the streets of Rome and Sicily. In YOUR PASTA SUCKS food wisdom is as hard-earned as a laugh, but Lane dispenses it freely in these pages, along with stories of his outrageous adventures and culinary discoveries. You’ll also find a wealth of useful tips such as:
- How to properly order a coffee in Rome
- A guide to surviving an Italian dinner (pro tip: get used to sharing everything).
- A short rant over the validity of “alfredo” that turns into a delicious recipe for Penne alla Vodka
- A conversational recipe with Matteo’s bestie Nick Smith on their versions of Mac and Cheese
