Who is Prince Joshua and how do you identify?

I am a rapper, dancer, and fashion enthusiast. I went to the art institute of phoenix and received a BA in fashion marketing & mgmt. I’ve always loved to entertain crowds from being a cheerleader, in theatre, and Gogo dancing. I recently began creating music and have found so much joy in combining my love for fashion, music, and dance all into one. I was born in a small town and have now lived in Hollywood for 3 years where I’ve featured on Out TV, performed my music for Weho Pride, and have got to be part of many incredible parties such as Evita where I’ve met stars like Katy Perry, Kesha, and Paris Hilton.

Gay rapper, gogo dancer, artist. What describes you best?

What best describes me is the words performer/entertainer. I love to give the crowd energy while on stage whether I’m rapping, dancing, or hitting a toe touch. It gives me so much joy when I can tell the crowd is engaged, starts dancing, or in awe all because of me.

How did your career start?

I’ve always loved to be on stage or in front of crowds, after struggling to accept myself as gay for all of high school due to a very sheltered and religious upbringing, I’m was able to really gain confidence at the age of 18 when I left home and began posting fashion, thirst traps, and dancing online and gained traction on my instagram. I began influencing for brands like Andrew Christian, BodayAware, and JJ Malibu. At the age of 20 I started Gogo dancing for gay bars and fell in love with entertaining my own community. From there I moved to phoenix and continued using my cheerleading background, marketing degree, and love for fashion to expand myself as a public figure. My friend Tokeyo asked me to feature in his song COOCHIE and after the project I decided I wanted to continue making music of my own. I began using all my connections and hard earned money to write, produce, and direct music videos for my new project CROWNED.

How difficult or easy is it to be sexualized as part of your job? Do you feel exposed or are you used to it?

While I love the attention and know lust is part of my job, it can definitely be draining. Sometimes I work so hard on a photo shoot or video and put so much work into it, only for a random mirror selfie with my cheeks exposed to get more engagement. I know that’s why most my following follows me, but I really hope for them to see there’s more to me than my bubble butt and bulge. I hope they see how much passion I have for music, fashion, and performing past just twerking or flexing for them.

How would you describe your music?

My music is unapologetically queer and unfiltered! I think there needs to be more queer voices heard, more queer music to relate to, and more songs for my LGBTQIA community to shake their ass’s to! I really want everyone who listens to this regardless of gender or sexuality to remember not to take themselves too seriously, to let loose, wiggle your butt a little, and be unapologetic about who you are.

What is the weirdest request you have received?

I have been asked by someone to mail them a pair of my soiled underwear and I’m not talking about number 1. If the money is right I do what I can to please my fans.

How important or relevant is BDSM culture in your life?

BDSM plays an important part in my life. The foundation of any BDSM relationship is a pre arranged agreement of boundaries and expectations within a dynamic. In a more simple explanation, consent is the most important part of a BDSM dynamic. Whether you practice any kinks or not everyone has the right to state boundaries and require consent before any involvement from another party. This is so important to me because as a Gogo boy and entertainer I am constantly touched, cat called, and or any combination. It’s important to remember to give respect to any entertainer regardless what they’re wearing or job title is, by consensually touching them you can allow them to feel safe and respected. From kinks like pup play, sensory deprivation, and role play I enjoy various forms of kink and hold consent as the foundation of every interaction.

How can you separate work from love life?

I think having my love life outside of the spotlight is important. While I’m currently single and so busy working on my different passions I have little time for such endeavors, I think keeping your relationship offline is important to create a strong dynamic outside of pressure from groupies or jealous haters etc… it would take some time for me to post a partner to my page or flaunt them on my pages only due to the fact that I’m looking for a solid connection with someone who genuinely cares about who I  and not just what I can offer.

What has been your biggest dream come true?

The fact that I’m able to perform full time and support myself is a dream on its own. I used to dream of moving to Hollywood, being on TV, performing in front of large crowds at festivals, and somehow I have achieved all of those things. I only wish to continue doing what I love and hope many more opportunities flourish from it.

What are your future plans?

I have already begun writing a new project with a couple songs ready to be recorded! I’m excited to make more music videos, and am manifesting getting to perform my music for various pride festivals this year.
